Carolina Panthers safety Eric Reid has been fined by the NFL for a hit he made during the Panthers' loss to the New Orleans Saints on Monday night, according to The Associated Press.

Here is the thing, though: Reid was not penalized for the hit during the game.

The play occurred when he and Carolina linebacker Luke Kuechly made a play on Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas near the sideline. It marks the fourth time Reid has been fined this year.

Reid currently has an ongoing collusion case against the NFL. After the fine was announced, Reid took to Twitter to post a video of the play and wrote, “adding it to the file.”

The 27-year-old was also recently selected by the league for random drug testing for the seventh time this season.

Reid asserts that NFL owners want him out of the league due to his stance on Colin Kaepernick. Reid was teammates with Kaepernick on the San Francisco 49ers and knelt beside him during Kaepernick's national anthem protest. Reid has also continued to express his support for Kaepernick since arriving in Carolina this year.

He jumped out of the gate quickly during his rookie campaign, totaling 91 tackles, four interceptions, a pair of fumble recoveries and 11 passes defended en route to a Pro Bowl appearance.

Reid spent the first five years of his career in San Francisco before signing a one-year deal with the Panthers in late September.
