After a disappointing 29-3 loss to the Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers safety Eric Reid believes his team could benefit from the addition of polarizing quarterback Colin Kaepernick. In fact, he thinks every organization could benefit from having Kaepernick in their locker room.

Said Reid after the loss, via Joe Person of The Athletic, while sporting a Kaepernick Nike jersey:

I think we could use Colin’s help. I think every team in the league could use Colin’s help. I would definitely be excited if he were here.”

Kaepernick held a workout for NFL teams and media on Saturday outside of Atlanta. Reid was in attendance at the event. However, no official Panthers scouts were. The safety noted that he did talk to Panthers owner David Tepper about the possibilities of him sending brass over. Tepper said that the team would request film from the NFL.

Unfortunately, Tepper was not able to request the film from the NFL. Kaepernick, amid a hodgepodge of changes, waivers and the lack of media at the official NFL workout, changed the location to a school field. The NFL did not run it, but there were scouts and media in attendance.

On Sunday, the Panthers' current starting quarterback, Kyle Allen, did not perform too hot. Allen went 31 for 50 passing for 325 yards and four interceptions, while throwing no touchdowns. However, it is unlikely that Carolina replaces him with Kaepernick.

Though Reid is an avid supporter of the quarterback, the Panthers' lack of a scout at the training session does not bode well for his chances.
