The Carolina Panthers have undergone some major changes with their coaching staff on both sides of the ball this offseason. However, it is clear that their focus has been on improving the offense.

They kickstarted the movement with the addition of offensive coordinator Norv Turner and followed it up by taking former Maryland wide receiver D.J. Moore with the 24th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. Fortunately, Turner will have some help getting Moore acquainted thanks to wide receiver Jarius Wright, according to Scott Fowler of the Charlotte Observer:

“I feel I could teach Norv Turner’s offense to a baby,” Wright said. “I know every aspect of it. I know how he wants everything run. If Norv forgets something, he can just come ask me.”

Wright certainly has the credentials to teach aspects of Turner's offense. The two spent some time together with the Minnesota Vikings before Turner's departure during the 2016 campaign. That said, it seems the schemes are still heavily ingrained into Wright's memory.

The seventh-year man out of Arkansas enjoyed the best year of his career under Turner's tutelage. It started almost immediately in the 2014 NFL season when he finished with 42 receptions for 588 yards and two touchdowns. Unfortunately, he has been unable to mirror that production ever since.

He will now be competing for a role with a bevy of other young members of the receiving corps. However, it appears he is still more than willing to take on a mentorship role to help them learn Turner's system.
