After being selected in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers, Jaycee Horn went on social media to explain his adoration for Kobe Bryant.

Well, not in great detail, but he did reveal he plans on honoring the late Los Angeles Lakers icon via wearing the number eight during his professional career. Don't believe me that the Panthers corner did such a thing? Here is the proof, pal!

Honestly, at least in that tweet, he can just be bringing up Kobe Bryant just because of the number deal. I mean, he also did a hashtag for what is drug slang, so you know, not everything has to have great meaning. At the same time, dude is a corner. Generally speaking, most DBs aren't donning single digits in the NFL, so it does appear the young Panthers talent went out of his way to snag the number — presumably to honor the Lakers legend.

Jaycee Horn, who once wore number seven in college, isn't new to the number changing game. The talented corner actually also wore number one while in college after his teammate went to the NFL. Given that number seven is already taken by the Panthers, and number one was donned by arguably the franchise's most important player ever (Cam Newton!), number eight makes sense if he likes it.

Nonetheless, it is not that big of a deal if Jaycee Horn wants to honor Kobe Bryant by wearing a number. It's far more important for Panthers fans that he turns out to be good.
