The Carolina Panthers have gone 2-0 since Kyle Allen took over at quarterback, so they will continue riding him.

According to Joseph Person of The Athletic, Panthers head coach Ron Rivera says that the team plans to roll with Allen as the starter when it takes on the Jacksonville Jaguars next Sunday.

Of course, it's not like Carolina has much of a choice right now, as Cam Newton is sidelined with a foot injury. But even when Newton gets healthy, you have to wonder if the Panthers will decide to stick with Allen going forward.

Newton has gone 0-8 over his last eight starts, while Carolina has gone 3-0 in games started by Allen since last year.

Allen completed 24 of his 34 passes for 232 yards in a win over the Houston Texans this past weekend, and last week, he went 19-for-26 with 261 yards and four touchdowns during a victory over the Arizona Cardinals.

The 23-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Texas A&M and Houston, went undrafted in 2017 but landed with the Panthers as a free agent.

Through 24 NCAA games between his two schools, Allen threw for 4,283 yards, 37 touchdowns and 18 interceptions while completing 61.7 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 138.6.

Not the types of numbers you would expect from a guy hoping to play in the pros, but thus far, Allen has shown he can certainly play on the NFL level.

The Panthers improved to 2-2 with their Week 4 win. Following their matchup with the Jaguars next Sunday, they will head on the road to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Oct. 13.
