Teddy Bridgewater, 27, has been with three franchises in five years, going from starter, to backup, to starting briefly, back to backup. Could he improve the Carolina Panthers' situation under center, though?

“He fits the mold of what Matt Rhule would want from his QB. He is steady. He is a leader. He is still really young. Keep your picks for other positions (than QB). I don't see them building around Cam (Newton) and this is a team in transition. I think, assuming he is healthy enough at some point this spring, Cam gets traded.”

The Panthers hired Baylor University head coach Matt Rhule in the offseason to lead the team in the post–Ron Rivera era. The dynamic playmaking of Teddy Bridgewater at quarterback could very well fit that mold, working with recruiting national champion LSU Tigers offensive coach Joe Brady as offensive coordinator.

Teddy Bridgewater shined when starting in place for future Hall of Fame QB Drew Brees for the New Orleans Saints for five games during the 2019 season, going a perfect 5-0 in the Super Bowl MVP's place.

Teddy Bridgewater will likely earn a spot as a starter again in 2020 after rehabilitating his career with the Saints following that ACL tear very early in his third year with the Minnesota Vikings, who had selected him with the last pick in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
