There’s no need to worry for Carolina Panthers fans, who probably held their collective breath when they saw Panthers tight end Greg Olsen get taken out in the second half of Sunday’s game against the New York Jets. Olsen appeared to have re-injured the same foot that he'd undergone surgery on this year, causing him to miss a chunk of games. Luckily, early reports suggest that there’s nothing to be overly concerned with as far as Olsen’s status is concerned.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, tests done on Olsen’s foot revealed that he's just fine and was likely taken out of the game against the Jets as a precaution.

Olsen is scheduled to undergo further testing, per Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, but the narrative still remains to follow that of Olsen being okay and ready to play next week against the New Orleans Saints.

It’s understandable that the Panthers would want to have extra tests on Olsen’s foot just to make sure that the 32-year-old tight end is good to go since he’s already missed eight games this season due to a Jones fracture, only making his return on Sunday.

Before exiting the Jets game, Olsen caught just one pass for 10 yards on four targets. He expects to do more as he shakes off the rusts of a long layoff going forward as Carolina heads toward a postseason berth.
