In his first season in the league, Carolina Panthers rookie running back Christian McCaffrey has made a tremendous impact on the field.

Much of his production has come from his ability to be an effective receiving option out of the backfield. In fact, McCaffrey has already put himself in a category of his own in league history.

McCaffrey has been a huge offensive spark plug for Carolina, leading all rookies with 73 receptions for 592 receiving yards and five touchdowns. He has recorded at least five catches nine times, including one 100-receiving yard performance. He is also tied for 13th in receptions and second among all running back in the league heading into Week 16.

The Stanford product has quickly become a key part of the Panthers' offensive game plan as their primary receiving option, leading the team in catches while placing second in receiving yards. His proficiency catching the ball out of the backfield has allowed him to make an impact despite Jonathan Stewart holding down the starting job in the running game.

With two games remaining in the season, McCaffrey can further add to his stat-line while helping the Panthers earn a playoff berth and possibly an NFC South division title for the fourth time in the last five years.
