Carolina Panthers quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is expected to play in Week 12 against the Minnesota Vikings, per NFL.com.

Bridgewater didn't play in Week 11 versus the Detroit Lions due to a knee sprain. However, he practiced on Wednesday and Panthers head coach Matt Rhule told reporters Bridgewater will play against the Vikings barring a late setback.

Carolina started P.J. Walker versus the Lions. The 25-year-old went 24-of-34 for 258 yards. He threw one touchdown and two interceptions in the Panthers' 20-0 win over the lowly Lions at home.

The Panthers are 4-7 on the season and in third place in the NFC South standings. Teddy Bridgewater, who began his NFL career with the Vikings, has thrown for 2,552 yards on the season and 13 touchdowns. Carolina is 3-7 when Bridgewater starts.

With Bridgewater back under center, the Panthers should be favored to defeat the Vikings, who lost to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 11. Minnesota star wideout Adam Thielen may not play in Week 12 since he's on the COVID-19/reserve list. Thielen tested positive, then negative for COVID-19, so the team is waiting to see what his next test will show.

The Panthers will likely miss the playoffs this season since the New Orleans Saints are going to win the NFC South and there are too many good teams in the NFC for Carolina to pass in the Wild Card hunt.
