Michael Jordan the NBA legend and owner of the Charlotte Hornets needs to make some room in North Carolina for another Michael Jordan. That's because the Carolina Panthers claimed guard Michael Jordan off waivers on Wednesday.

Sometimes the stars just align themselves and that's what happened when the Panthers claimed “MJ.”

Go ahead and set up the Spiderman meme where they are pointing at each other, dial up the scene from Toy Story where Woody says, “This town ain't big enough for the two of us.” Send it all.

Jordan was a standout at Ohio State in college and the Cincinnati Bengals used a 4th round draft pick on him back in 2019. They need all the help they can get protecting Joe Burrow this year but Jordan wasn't part of those plans and was cut. The Panthers came in and swooped him up off waivers.

The release came as a surprise to many who thought Jordan might be competing for a starting spot on the offensive line in Cincinnati. But it never came to fruition.

He started 19 games in his career with the Bengals.

The Panthers made waves in the offseason when they made a move to acquire quarterback Sam Darnold from the New York Jets. Carolina is hoping he solves the quarterback question that has been looming since Cam Newton's MVP year.

Carolina has a lot of pieces in place on offense and the thought is that Darnold just needed a fresh start and change of scenery. The Panthers are providing just that and who knows, maybe Michael Jordan will be protecting him up front on the offensive line.
