The Carolina Panthers are planning to have wide receiver Torrey Smith back in the lineup Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks, but fellow wideout Devin Funchess is expected to be sidelined, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Smith has not played in over a month due to a knee injury, while Funchess is dealing with a back injury.

Smith has appeared in just six games this season due to his knee troubles. He last played Oct. 21 against the Philadelphia Eagles, hauling in four passes for 61 yards. The 29-year-old has caught 16 passes for 171 yards and two touchdowns on the season. This is his first year in Carolina after winning a Super Bowl with the Eagles last season.

Funchess caught two passes for 39 yards last weekend against the Detroit Lions, but he also had a major issue with drops in a disappointing 20-19 loss. While drops have been a problem for the 24-year-old, he has been the most productive wide receiver on the roster this season. He has caught 41 passes for 516 yards, both team-leading marks. The Michigan product has three touchdowns.

The Panthers' matchup against the Seahawks is a crucial one when it comes to the playoff picture. Carolina is 6-4 on the season and currently hanging on to the No. 5 spot in the NFC, while Seattle is right in the rearview mirror at 5-5.
