Free agent wide receiver Allen Hurns might not have to wait long before getting a job again. Currently unemployed after getting released by the Jacksonville Jaguars on Tuesday, Hurns has reportedly received attention from as many as 10 teams, including the Carolina Panthers, according to Hurns himself via Ryan Chellof WFNZ.com.

Hurns is the second big-name wide receiver Jacksonville has parted ways with this offseason, as they have earlier seen Allen Robinson leave via free agency. Robinson is now with the Chicago Bears.

As for Hurns, the 26-year-old spent his first four seasons in the NFL with the Jaguars, but his inability to stay healthy over the past two years have certainly played a role in Jacksonville’s decision to cut him loose. Hurns missed five games in 2016 and played in only 10 games in 2017, largely because of an ankle injury. When healthy, though, Allen Hurns is a deadly receiver. He showed this in his first two seasons in the league in which he racked up totals of 1,708 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns on 115 receptions.

Stocking up on talents and weapons that will surround quarterback Cam Newton is a priority for the Panthers this offseason. In 2017, the Panthers ranked just 28th in passing yards. When they traded oft-injured wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin to Buffalo in October, the Panthers were left to depend a lot on Devin Funchess downfield. In fact, outside of Funchess, the Panthers only got 87 receptions from their other receivers.

As mentioned, the Panthers are barely the only team interested in the services of Allen Hurns, so it would be interesting how they will try to coax the former Miami Hurricane to sign with them.
