According to Jason La Canfora, the Panthers front office is willing to part ways with “three high draft picks and Christian McCaffrey in a package for Deshaun Watson.”

If these rumors are true, this has to be the biggest offer the Texans have received. It's a massive deal that would shake up the entire NFL, as the idea of Watson playing for this young Carolina team would be a deadly pairing for the league. This would be a great deal for Houston, as they'd receive the draft compensation they want, along with a superstar running back to build around.

As for the Panthers, they'd be receiving a drastic boost to the quarterback position and could immediately become playoff contenders. When you have a superstar talent like Watson under center, as star running back is less of a necessity. Losing the draft capital hurts, but this roster is so young it shouldn't matter.

Acquiring Deshaun Watson would certainly speed up the Panthers' timeline of becoming a playoff contender. However, there are still legal issues surrounding Watson, and there is no clarification on his availability after the 2021 season.
