If most people saw a three-time defensive player of the year coming at them, most would take the sack and move on to the next play. Carolina Panthers quarterback Kyle Allen however, is not that type of guy. He showed as much against JJ Watt of the Houston Texans.

As Allen looks to add to his impressive Week 3 earlier in the season, you can see the 23 year old signal caller tuck the ball as Watt comes directly towards him, then escape and step up to find an open Jarius Wright..

This play conveyed Allen's athletic ability to escape pressure and lead to a Carolina field goal that pu them up six points. The win keeps Carolina right in the thick of things as they try to keep pace with a wide open NFC South division.

If Allen continues to play well, the conversation of a quarterback controversy might become even more legitimate as Cam Newton continues to sit on the sideline.
