The Carolina Panthers may have endured their fair share of trials and tribulations during the 2018 NFL season. However, it was certainly not due to a shortage of effort on head coach Ron Rivera's part.

Although the Pittsburgh Steelers had built up quite a deficit over the Panthers going into halftime, Rivera was doing what he could to keep his team in the game. His inspiring halftime speech was caught on camera by Amazon Prime's series ‘All or Nothing,' via Twitter user Steven Taranto:

The clip provides a rare insight into what goes on in the locker room with each week during the season. It is clear that Rivera carries quite a presence when it comes to his players.

Despite his stirring speech, the Panthers were unable to mount a comeback and ultimately fell to the Steelers by a score of 52-21. Regardless, it is still easy to see why Carolina has stuck with Rivera amidst their recent struggles.

The NFL has ushered in a bit of a youth movement when it comes to coaches. Many teams followed the trend of looking for the next bright, offensive mind to lead them into the future this offseason. Rivera remains part of the rare crop of veteran coaches whose emphasis falls on the defensive side of the ball.

There is plenty of optimism about a potential resurgence in the 2019 NFL season in Carolina. As a result, this could be a bit of a deciding year for him to solidify his future with the Panthers.
