The unthinkable happened. Dwyane Wade will be donning a different jersey next season after parting ways with the Miami Heat – his team for 13 years.

A lot has been speculated about Wade’s exit, but the main theme revolved around money. Not that the superstar guard is a greedy individual. But after years of giving “home team discount” to the Heat, many felt, including Wade possibly, that it’s about time the organization cough some more cash for their franchise flagbearer.

The way Pat Riley handled the negotiations was a curious one, with the team seemingly gearing up for the future. Recently, the Heat’s puppet master expressed his good thoughts to his former top dog, while also hinting that the organization is open to a reunion in the future.

Dwyane Wade is now at his “second home”, which is also, ironically, his initial home being from the Chicago area. Still, the Bulls get to play the Heat at least three times in the coming season, so expect the hostilities to subside between Miami and their former leader when they meet up.
