It seems Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is recovering at home while watching NCAA March Madness on Sunday. His team this season? Probably Texas Tech, which lost a heartbreaking NCAA Tournament game versus the Arkansas Razorbacks, 68-66. Mahomes sent a tweet consisting of a sad face emoji after the difficult loss.

Patrick Mahomes knows that Texas Tech was led by Terrence Shannon Jr who had 20 points in the game. Kevin McCullar, Kyler Edwards and Mac McClung also had 15, 11 and 9 points respectively but it wasn’t enough to help Texas Tech, who are now eliminated in the tournament.

As for Patrick Mahomes, he seems to be enjoying family time with his new baby. The 2018 NFL MVP is currently recovering from a turf toe injury, the same injury that may have affected his performance last Super Bowl.

The Chiefs are doing their best to recover from that forgettable Super Bowl loss and give Patrick Mahomes more help — in a tangible and meaningful way which comes across strongly — by signing more assets this NFL offseason. In the past few days, they’ve acquired several names including running back Darrell Williams, offensive lineman Andrew Wylie and Joe Thuney as well as defensive end Taco Charlton among others.

Patrick Mahomes certainly sees those moves and recognizes that his front office is doing the most to put the Chiefs in position to make another run at the Super Bowl next season, instead of sliding off the pace and losing ground in the deep and balanced AFC.

The Chiefs are also rumored to have interest in former Philadelphia 49ers center back K’Waun Williams, who they plan to visit this free agency period. The Chiefs are doing everything they can this off season to help Patrick Mahomes and company head to their third straight Super Bowl.

As of now though, Patrick Mahomes is probably at home—enjoying his off-season with some hoops action and family time. There’s no question that the one-time champion will be back with vengeance in his mind next season.
