With training camp right around the corner, NFL teams around the league are finalizing their rosters. This includes the New England Patriots. For that reason, the rumor mill is buzzing with potential trades that could happen between now and the start of the season. Some of it has quieted down, but we're likely to see a handful of trades come to fruition as we enter training camp.

The New England Patriots are one team whose name is continuously mentioned in trade talks. Wide receiver N'Keal Harry has requested a trade, while Stephon Gilmore looks to sign a new contract. Gilmore has been a popular name in trade speculation, especially since Jalen Ramsey has openly recruited him to play for the Los Angeles Rams.

Even so, Gilmore is likely to stay in New England, while the front office will find a trade partner for Harry. The Patriots may not receive much back, as Harry has struggled throughout his career so far. To get the biggest bang for their buck, New England may have to consider adding a draft pick (or two) to sweeten the deal. With that said, here are three potential trade candidates the Patriots could target.

Chandler Jones

There was a quick chirping not too long ago about the Arizona Cardinals possibly looking to trade Chandler Jones. Many believed the franchise wanted JJ Watt and Jones to dominate the pass rush. However, the front office has brought a ton of youth to the defense that will be taking over sooner, rather than later. Additionally, Jones is in the final year of his contract. Now could be the perfect time for the Cardinals to trade him, as there is no guarantee they'll re-sign him.

Jones would be a great addition to the New England Patriots roster. He's also familiar with how the Patriots operate, as Jones spent the first four years of his career in New England. It'd be a nice reunion that improves the Patriots' defensive line. The Patriots would likely look to re-sign him as well, as the front office hasn't acquired any outstanding prospects that could replace him.

Michael Gallup

There haven't been any rumors regarding Michael Gallup and the Dallas Cowboys. Even so, Gallup could be a nice trade target for the Patriots. He's still young, has the talent to be a star receiver, and is in the final year of his contract. Gallup is the third passing option in Dallas, but he plays at a much higher level than where he's listed on the Cowboys' depth chart.

This would be a huge upgrade for the Patriots, as they'd bring in a legitimate deep threat who has proven to be a solid target. Cam Newton claims he's finally 100% healthy, and the front office selected Mac Jones in the 2021 NFL Draft. New England's quarterback situation should be fine moving forward, allowing Gallup to play at a high level if he were to be traded to the Patriots.

Jamison Crowder

Trades with division rivals are extremely rare, but if the Patriots made the right offer they could land Jamison Crowder. He seems to be the odd man out in the New York Jets' receiver core. The front office brought in Corey Davis, Elijah Moore, and Keelan Cole this offseason. Additionally, many are excited about Denzel Mims' potential in the league as well. The trade rumors swirling around Crowder have died down, but something can still happen if the Jets receive an offer they like.

Crowder would be a great addition to the Patriots. He's a solid route runner and would fill in Julian Edelman's role nicely. The coaching staff seems to like Jakobi Meyers for that role at the moment. However, bringing in someone like Crowder gives New England multiple slot receivers that fit their scheme.
