The New England Patriots are starting the offseason with a huge acquisition by agreeing to acquire offensive tackle Trent Brown from the Las Vegas Raiders, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

As part of the deal, the Raiders will receive a 2022 fifth-round pick in exchange for their 2022 seventh-round pick, which will be sent to the Patriots. Brown previously had two years and $29.5 million left on his contract with the Raiders signed back in 2019. He will be reworking his contract upon arriving in New England and will settle for a one-year, $11 million deal, making him an unrestricted free agent in 2022.

The Florida product started his career with the San Francisco 49ers back in 2015, where he stayed until 2017. He then relocated to the Patriots and won Super Bowl LIII in his lone season with the team in 2018.

Brown continued to impress in his first campaign with the Raiders back in 2019, notching the first Pro Bowl appearance of his career. However, he encountered a major setback in the 2020 season when he was hospitalized due to the mishandling of a pregame IV that caused air to enter his bloodstream, along with his encounter with COVID-19.

Brown's condition eventually limited him to appear in five games last season. Certainly, he could've done more for his team if he wasn't ruled out for most of the season. Brown's arrival to New England will further bolster their offensive line and will definitely benefit the Patriots' quarterback situation for next season.

It is safe to say Trent Brown is happy about his return to Foxborough:

Now, the Patriots need to figure out what they're going to do at quarterback. There have been rumors of a desired reunion with Jimmy Garoppolo, but that's a bit of a long shot at this point.
