All signs currently point to New England Patriots running back Sony Michel potentially making a return on the gridiron soon after getting activated from the injured reserve ahead of their Week 11 tiff against the Houston Texans, as per NFL Network‘s Ian Rapoport. The third-year rusher was sidelined for the majority of the team's 2020 campaign due to a quadriceps injury which limited him to appear in only three games this season.

In anticipation of his potential return on the field, the Patriots also waived offensive lineman Hjalte Froholdt to carve out a spot for Michel. The ball-carrier last made an appearance on the field in their Week 3 encounter against the Las Vegas Raiders where he balled out and recorded 117 rushing yards on nine carries for the Patriots.

Fellow running back Damien Harris has been slotting in the position in lieu of his extended absence. He stepped up big in their most recent game against the Baltimore Ravens where he led with 121 rushing yards on 22 receptions en route to a 23-17 win for Bill Belichick's squad.

Despite his impressive performance, the former Alabama Crimson Tide will be limited moving forward as he remains to be questionable for their upcoming game against the Texans due to a recently sustained ankle injury.

The Patriots are currently rolling with a two-game winning streak. They have a 4-5 record, good enough for third in the AFC East division behind the second-seed Miami Dolphins. With Sony Michel looking to make his way back to the offensive rotation, the Foxborough-based squad will hope to carry over the momentum and score their third consecutive victory in Houston.
