Week 6 of the 2018 NFL season features a marquee matchup between the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs. However, it appears head coach Bill Belichick is not buying into the hype.

The showdown between the Patriots and Chiefs has been billed as perhaps the most intriguing game thus far in the 2018 NFL season. According to NFL Network's Andrew Siciliano, Belichick is treating it as just another game:

Reporter: “Bill, does it feel like you're playing for the top seed in the AFC…”

Belichick: “It feels like we're playing Kansas City.”

Reporter: “Does it feel like…”

Belichick” “It feels like we're playing Kansas City.”

Belichick's responses should hardly come as a surprise. He has become notorious for downplaying just about every game he has coached in his career and it seems he is already in midseason form. However, he is right in many ways.

There are a number of reasons why this showdown presents so much intrigue. For starters, this game features two of the most well-known quarterbacks in the NFL in Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes' stellar start to his career has drawn comparisons to when Brady first got his shot. Even the veteran has acknowledged the similarities and has offered the young gunslinger his fair share of praise. the fact that it is a primetime game is just the icing on the cake.

However, it is still just a regular season game at the end of the day. A win this week will not dictate how either team performs the rest of the way. It seems Belichick is well-aware of this notion.
