For a New England Patriots team that was once near the bottom of the standings in the AFC earlier this season, running back Damien Harris is now much confident in what his team can soon accomplish.

The Patriots clinched a statement road win over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 8. It was not a convincing performance by New England's offense, considering the 4.7 yards per play average posted and mere one touchdown recorded from four red zone drives. But the Patriots defense sure picked up for the team in the game thanks to the two interceptions recorded off of quarterback Justin Herbert and four total third down conversions allowed over the game.

Harris came away from the game with 80 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. His biggest takeaway from the win did not have to do with his own performance but rather his sheer belief that the Patriots can compete with any team in the NFL.

“We just keep building confidence,” Harris said. “We know what the formula is. When we play well, we can beat anybody.”

The Patriots currently hold the eighth seed in the AFC, which comes mere weeks after their 1-3 start to the season.

Next up for the Patriots will be a key road test against Stephon Gilmore and the Carolina Panthers in Week 9. Not many foresaw weeks ago that the Patriots would later have a chance to boast a winning record this season, but they will have an opportunity to do just that with a win over the Panthers.
