Free agent wide receiver Antonio Brown is apologizing to New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft for drama that came with his signing and tenure with the team.

In an Instagram post, Brown stated:

“Mr.Kraft I apologize sincerely to you and your organization! All I wanted to be was an asset to the organization; sorry for the bad media and the drama! Thank you sincerely AB.”

Brown has not been on the field since the Patriots' Week 2 game against the Miami Dolphins, where he caught four passes for 56 yards and a touchdown.

After a fiery end to his tenure with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Brown was traded to the Oakland Raiders in exchange for third and fifth-round picks. But Brown never suited up for the Raiders, injuring his feet during a cryotherapy treatment and a helmet issue that dragged on for a large part of the offseason.

New England picked up Brown after his release from the Raiders, but released him going into Week 3 after Brown was accused of raping his personal trainer and sexually assaulting her on multiple occasions.

Many teams have stayed away from Brown, posing too much of a risk despite the skill he possesses.

In 10 seasons, Brown has caught 841 passes for 11,263 yards and 75 touchdowns. Brown is a six-time Pro Bowler and four-time All-Pro.

Teams that have been linked to Antonio Brown through fans calling for him to be signed include the San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles.

While Brown continues to advocate for himself to see the field again, there will be some times with some level of interest in signing him this coming offseason.
