Antonio Brown's time with the New England Patriots was short-lived and some people wonder if the two sides could reunite if Brown's name is cleared.

While there have been rumors that there would be interest, Patriots insider Tom Curran revealed on PFT Live that Brown's failure to disclose his lawsuit is a factor in why New England won't want him back.

“It has more to do with the fact that, when he signed initially with the Patriots, they went through the exercise of, ‘OK, is anything gonna bubble up here? We gonna have an issue with anything?'” Curran said per Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. “And they were told ‘no,’ mainly because Drew Rosenhaus was under the feeling, I think, that they had it under control. The Britney Taylor situation was not going to explode on them, yet it did.”

Back in September, Brown signed with the Patriots following his release from the Oakland Raiders. Upon his arrival, many were skeptical about whether or not Brown was going to buy-in to the winning culture of the Patriots.

The initial thought was that Brown would create issues within the locker room with his antics. Instead, it was an off-the-field situation that led to his release from New England.

On September 10th, Britney Taylor, Brown's former trainer, filed a sexual-assault lawsuit on the troubled wide receiver. According to reports, Brown possibly had knowledge of the legal proceedings as early as March.

Therefore, the Patriots aren't interested in bringing him back to the team due to not disclosing that information. Above all, New England likely doesn't want to sign him because of the backlash they would receive for doing so.

With the current state of the Patriots' offense, they could absolutely benefit from having the talented Brown on the field. However, the All-Pro wide receiver ruined his chances of playing alongside Tom Brady by withholding information from the organization.

The case between Brown and his former trainer continues to unfold. Along with that, the wide receiver believes he'll be cleared before the end of the regular season. There will undoubtedly be teams interested in his service, but don't expect New England to be one of them.
