New England Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore is looking for a new contract. Wide receiver N'Keal Harry already wants a trade after just two seasons with the team.

What does Bill Belichick have to say about this as training camp arrives? Of course, very little:

This is absolutely what should have been expected about of the mouth of Bill Belichick. There was no way he was actually going to comment in depth about these situations. He's all business, and he's not going to be distracted by this stuff and will instead let it play out.

Gilmore has reported to camp, but he's currently on the physically unable to perform list because of a quad tear suffered last season. The cornerback has played four seasons with the Patriots, making three consecutive Pro Bowls in 2018, 2019 and 2020. He also made First-Team All-Pro in 2018 and 2019 and won Defensive Player of the Year in 2019.

Harry is expected to be in attendance as well despite his trade request. The 23-year-old wideout was the last pick in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, but he has disappointed in his first two seasons. He caught just 12 passes for 105 yards and two touchdowns in seven games as a rookie, and then he caught 33 passes for 309 yards and two scores in 14 games last season.

Belichick's Patriots are hoping to bounce back after a mediocre 2020 campaign in which they went 7-9 and missed the playoffs. Cam Newton is back in the fold as the starting quarterback, but New England did use the No. 15 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft on Alabama's Mac Jones. We'll see if Newton holds that starting job all season or if Jones replaces him at some point, and the Gilmore and Harry situations should continue to be monitored.
