New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick has nothing but the highest of praise for wide receiver Julian Edelman, especially after his performance yesterday.

In a game that will, no doubt, go down in history for reasons that may not entirely be positive, Edelman has served as just one of a few bright spots, according to Belichick.

“Julian’s the ultimate competitor. From his first playoff game against the Ravens to tonight, Julian gives you all he’s got every play all the time. Look, we all make mistakes out there. We all have plays that we’d like to have back. We’re not perfect. Nobody competes harder than Julian does. He puts a lot into it. You know what you’re gonna get from him. He’s a very physically, mentally tough football player. He came through on a lot of big plays for us tonight.”

Julian Edelman, who has been with the Patriots for just about a decade, didn't see it as a “big play,” however. Rather, he thought it was just another part of doing the job.

“I didn’t think it was that close. Thank God it took a short hop on me. I don’t play baseball. I didn’t touch it. It was close, though, I guess.”

Edelman, interestingly enough, was also the target on consecutive 3rd-and-10 situations, which resulted in a rather impressive 35 yards between the two plays.

It should also be interesting to see if Edelman's winning streak can hold up for the Super Bowl when the Patriots play the Rams on Sunday, February 3rd.
