The New England Patriots are currently focused on preparing for their playoff game with the Tennessee Titans whom they'll face in the division round in Foxborough on Saturday. Despite the upcoming playoff game at home, the team has been shrouded in controversy as of late with talk of discord in the New England front office.

In the recent report that surfaced on ESPN about all the bad blood behind the scenes in New England, Belichick was said to have met with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. Apparently, in the same way everything else was denied by the team and those involved, Belichick claims he never met with Goodell and the last time they saw each other was in Mexico, via Ryan Hannable of WEEI.com.

“That’s absolutely not true,” he said. “The last time I saw the commissioner was before our game against Oakland in Mexico City. He was on the sideline and I saw him before the game and wished each other well. That is the last time I saw him.”

Along with the question about a supposed meeting with Goodell, Belichick was asked whether he's ever been told to trade a player by owner Robert Kraft, via Hannable.

“Yeah, we’ve never done that,” he said. “We talked about things organizationally and make organizational decisions.”

An interesting question considering the fact that this controversy in New England appears to have stemmed from Belichick wanting to move on from Brady and Kraft wanting to keep the five-time Super Bowl with the Patriots a little while longer. The team traded both of their backup quarterbacks this season sending Jacoby Brissett to the Indianapolis Colts and Jimmy Garoppolo to the San Francisco 49ers.

Regardless of how this season ends for the Patriots, it'll be interesting to see what happens in the offseason and whether there are truly some issues in the front office.
