Longtime NFL head coach Bill Belichick and his New England Patriots currently find themselves in an unknown position. Upon taking the field against the surging Kansas City Chiefs in Week 14, the Patriots will be fresh off of a dominant loss, a defeat that came at the hands of the Houston Texans on Sunday Night Football.

With quarterback Tom Brady trying to figure things out on offense, the Patriots pass catchers may not be nearly as talented as they have been in years past. With the likes of Antonio Brown, Demaryius Thomas, Rob Gronkowski, Chris Hogan, and Josh Gordon now officially out of the picture in New England, Brady has been forced to rely heavily on veteran wideout Julian Edelman.

While it initially appeared as though Belichick and company would be adding another weapon to the mix in rookie wide receiver N'Keal Harry, who has been injured for the majority of the 2019-20 regular season, the former Arizona State Sun Devils standout only saw limited action in Week 12 against the Texans. One thing is for sure, though, Harry's lack of playing time in Houston was not due to a lack of trust between him and Brady.

“That definitely wasn’t it,” Belichick recently said, via USA TODAY Sports. “As the game unfolded you try and do the things that are working for you, the things that are most successful, and try and build on those. That is what we try to do, that is what we usually do, I would say. Look, there were plenty of mistakes in that game to go around. Everyone [made them]. It is not any one player. Even though you may try to pinpoint somebody, that’s definitely not the case. We all have to do a better job — players, coaches.”

The Patriots are now 10-2 and sit in second place in the AFC standings behind only the Baltimore Ravens.
