New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is headed to a third straight Super Bowl appearance, but he was recently reminded of a distant memory despite having to prepare for the Los Angeles Rams.

Belichick was once the head coach for the New York Jets for literally one day before deciding to accept the head coaching with the Patriots back in 2000.

Newly appointed head coach Adam Gase has most definitely outlasted Belichick's head coaching stint with the Jets. Unfortunately for the Jets, the Patriots have won five Super Bowl trophies with Belichick as their head coach. The situation has to be a very tough pill to swallow for the Jets. Not to mention, Belichick wrote his resignation on a napkin.

Belichick has a sense of humor at times and clearly he found the humor in the situation. The Patriots have reaped the benefits of having Belichick for nearly 20 years now and the dynasty he has helped create is undeniably impressive. Belichick never ceases to find a game plan to stifle opposing offenses and this dates back to his days acting as defensive coordinator for the New York Giants.

Belichick was alongside his mentor Bill Parcells for much of his younger years prior to his head coaching days. The Patriots always have a promising chance as long as Belichick and Tom Brady are able to join forces. The Patriots have been to the big dance numerous times and it's not the first time they have faced the Rams as they beat them back in 2002.
