New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick has no further comments on the Michael Bennett situation that has stolen the headlines in Foxborough. Bennett has been suspended for Monday night's game against the New York Jets for conduct detrimental to the team.

Belichick said during his Thursday press conference that he won't be commenting on any players personal situation and the team is focused on preparing for the Jets.

“Right now we’re focused on the Jets,” Belichick said via NBC Sports Boston. “That is what we’re working on.”

Bennett said the reason for the suspension was a disagreement with his position coach Bret Bielema, and according to ESPN sources, others saw the disagreement.

“On Friday, I had a philosophical disagreement with my position coach that has led to my suspension,” Bennett told ESPN. “I apologize to my teammates for any distraction this may have caused.”

Bennett has seen his role decrease as the season has gone. Against the New York Giants, he played only 11 of the teams 50 defensive snaps with the first time on the field not coming until the second quarter.

The Patriots traded a fifth-round pick to the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason to get Bennett, but so far the two sides haven't worked out. With the Patriots, he has been used mostly as a situational pass rusher and it's clear that it has frustrated him.

The next big question is, will the Patriots keep him around or will Belichick decide he has had enough and try to trade him or release him? The trade deadline is Tuesday, Oct. 29 at 4:00 p.m. ET.
