Back in February 2019 when the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 52, Eagles offensive tackle Lane Johnson called the Patriots a “fear-based organization” and said that players don't really have fun playing for New England.

Well, on Sunday, the Pats exacted some revenge on the Birds, coming away with a 17-10 victory at Lincoln Financial Field to improve to 9-1 on the season.

Afterwards, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, never a man of many words, may have thrown a little jab at Johnson in his postgame press conference:

“They just did a good job. Looked like they all had fun out there today,” Belichick said, according to Phil Perry of NBC Sports Boston.

Johnson actually exited the game in the second quarter due to a head injury.

It's hard to recall many times where Belichick used the word “fun” to describe a win, so it does seem like he was taking a shot at Johnson. Either that or Belichick changed his usual stance overnight (which probably didn't happen).

Although it wasn't exactly a clean performance, as the Patriots mustered just 289 yards of total offense and the Eagles were missing their top two receivers, it had to feel good for Belichick and Co. given what happened two years ago.

Not only did the Pats win to maintain their grasp on the No. 1 overall seed in the AFC, but they also dropped Philadelphia to 5-5, and now, the Eagles are a full game behind the Dallas Cowboys for first place in the NFC East.
