Is New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick secretly some hilarious comedian behind the scenes? New York Jets head coach Adam Gase seems to think so.

During his media session with Patriots reporters on Thursday in advance of the Jets-New England game in Week 9 on Monday Night Football, Gase admitted that some of his biggest laughs in life have come when he's been around Belichick.

Via Pro Football Talk on this Patriots-Jets plot twist:

“At the same time, I don’t think I’ve laughed harder being around somebody,” Adam Gase said about Bill Belichick.

“Just some of the things that get brought up and some of the things that he’s experienced in his life. I mean, he’s experienced some things that are interesting to hear and when you’re around him and [Lions coach] Matt Patricia, I mean those two guys together are funny to be around.”

This is pretty fascinating. Belichick always looks miserable when he's speaking to the media as the Patriots' coach and usually gives short, sometimes hostile answers.

However, it looks like the Patriots' head coach is a different guy around people he enjoys being around. It's a shame we don't get to see that side of him more often.

The Patriots are favored to defeat the Jets in Week 9. New York is the only winless team in the NFL at 0-8.

The Patriots are desperate for a win, as the team is only 2-5 in the first season of the post-Tom Brady era and quarterback Cam Newton has looked awful as Brady's replacement.
