Bill Belichick has five Super Bowl titles as head coach of the New England Patriots, but he’s far from being content. Belichick is just the type who would crave for more success and won’t sit on his laurels, so it’s not entirely surprising to hear him narrate the many shortcomings his team had during a 31-20 road loss at the hands of the Jacksonville Jaguars while speaking to reporters on Monday, per Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk.

“Yeah, again, it’s a little bit of everything,” Belichick said. “That’s kind of the way it was the whole day. It wasn’t any one position, one guy, one thing. It was kind of one thing on this play, one thing on that play, but in the end, we just didn’t have enough productive plays in any phase of the game. We just have to do a better job. I wouldn’t say we were way off in a lot of areas, but you didn’t have to be. It just took one thing and they were able to take advantage of that like a good team does. We’ve just got to do a better job.”

In other words, Bill Belichick wants to see the team improve on every facet going forward.

Against the Jaguars, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady threw for only 234 yards on 24-of-35 completions, though, he had two passing touchdowns and zero interceptions.

The biggest headache for New England in that game was their lousy defense that allowed Jags signal-caller Blake Bortles collect a total of 377 passing yards and four touchdowns. The Patriots’ pass rush came up with zero sacks. Overall, the Jaguars outgained the Pats in total yards, 481-302.

New England has a week to cure their ills before taking on former Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia and the Detroit Lions on the road.
