New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick doesn't seem ready to commit one way or another to Tom Brady's future with the team. Talking on Sunday morning, Belichick started by saying Brady is an iconic figure, and there is no one that respects him more than he.
"Tom is an iconic figure in this organization. No one respects Tom more than I do…" – Belichick when pressed about Brady's status because of the QB's 20 years in the organization. #Patriots

He then changed his tune a little, saying it takes more than one person to decide a person's future. He didn't elaborate on the comment anymore, but this seems to indicate that it is a two-way street when deciding what the future Hall of Fame quarterback will do next season.
Belichick just said “one person can’t just decide what anyone’s going to do” as part of an answer about Tom Brady’s status going forward. In some ways it’s similar to Brady adding “hopefully” to his statement that it’s unlikely he’ll retire. It’s a two-way street.

All these comments seem to add a little more mystery about what Belichick and the Patriots are thinking. If the team truly wanted Brady back, Belichick would have already given him the vote of confidence.
After the team's loss to the Tennessee Titans, Brady didn't seem to have a solid plan for what his future holds, but did say he loves playing for the Patriots.
“I just don't know what's going to happen,” Tom Brady said via Ian O'Conner of ESPN, “and I'm not going to predict it. And no one needs to make choices at this point. I love playing football. I love playing football for this team. I've loved playing for this team for two decades and winning a lot of games. And again, I don't know what it looks like moving forward, so we'll just take it day by day.”
If this is the end of the road for the Patriots and Brady, it is a disappointing end to one of the best dynasties in sports history.
