New England Patriots wide receiver Antonio Brown may be eligible to play in his team's Week 2 matchup against the Miami Dolphins after avoiding the commissioner's exempt list, but head coach Bill Belichick is not saying whether or not Brown will play.

“I’m not going to hand out a copy of the game plan here,” said Belichick, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. We’ll do what’s best for the team.”

Belichick playing it coy is hardly surprising.

Brown was hit with rape allegations earlier this week, the latest incident in what has been a duration of time full of them for the seven-time Pro Bowler.

The 31-year-old signed with the Patriots on Monday after requesting his release from the Oakland Raiders late last week. The Raiders initially acquired Brown in a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers back in March, sending a third-round draft pick and a fifth-rounder to the Steelers in return.

However, it did not take Brown long to wear out his welcome.

Whether it was frostbite on his feet or a seemingly never-ending battle with the NFL over the usage of his now-banned helmet, Brown missed most of training camp.

He was then tagged with a $54,000 fine by Oakland for missing some practices, which led to Brown having a heated confrontation with Raiders general manager Mike Mayock last Wednesday.

Brown apologized to the team last Friday, but after learning that Oakland had voided the $30 million in guaranteed money on his contract, he demanded to be released, and the Raiders obliged.
