More and more people are sharing the opinion that New England Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore is the best cornerback in football right now. Add former NFL cornerback Darrelle Revis to that list.

Revis took to Twitter on Thursday night to state that he thinks Gilmore is the top corner in the league:

Coming from Revis, a guy who was widely considered the No. 1 cornerback in the NFL himself during his prime, that is a hefty compliment.

Through six games this season, Gilmore has logged 22 tackles, a couple of interceptions, eight passes defended and a defensive touchdown and seems well on his way to his third Pro Bowl appearance and second First-Team All-Pro selection.

Gilmore, who played his collegiate football at the University of South Carolina, was originally selected by the Buffalo Bills with the 10th overall pick of the 2012 NFL Draft.

He played in all 16 games during his rookie campaign, posting 60 tackles, a pick, a pair of forced fumbles and 16 passes defended.

The 29-year-old went on to spend the first five years of his career with the Bills, making his first Pro Bowl during his final season in Buffalo in 2016 when he totaled 48 tackles, five interceptions and 12 passes defended.

Gilmore then signed a massive five-year deal with the Patriots in March 2017.

His first year in New England was actually very disappointing, but last season, Gilmore broke out, appearing in all 16 contests and registering 45 tackles, a sack, two picks, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and 20 passes defended, earning a Pro Bowl selection and First-Team All-Pro honors.
