To the dismay of all of Bills Mafia, New England Patriots cornerback Jonathan Jones won't be fined for his helmet-to-helmet (which spawned a penalty), concussion inducing, hit on Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. “It was determined Jones turned his shoulder to stop the runner (who is not defenseless), while the runner is being tackled, falling forward and down,” per Rapoport.

Meanwhile, Allen has reportedly cleared concussion protocol and is expected to play on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.

Following the hit, Jones said he contacted Allen on social media, but he wouldn't discuss what the two talked about. “It was just football,” Jones said, via Henry McKenna of USA Today. “Got a chance to talk to him. Now I’m good.” Immediately after the game, he expressed he had no desire to hurt the second-year quarterback intentionally; instead, he was trying to make a play.

“There’s no intent to ever hurt anyone. I don’t think anyone ever tries to go helmet to helmet. Everyone is just flying around trying to make plays,” said after the Patriots' Week 4 win, via Matt Vautour of MassLive.

On the other hand, Bills head coach Sean McDermott wasn't too happy with the hit after the game.

There’s no room in football for that,” coach Sean McDermott said, via Ryan Hannable of WEEI. “It is a shame to see a player like Josh, or any player for that matter, go down on a hit like that…”I asked for an explanation. I thought he should have been thrown out. Other than that, I am not going to get into that at all. That is for the league to get into.”

Nonetheless, the Bills are walking away with it with their starting quarterback in-tact and the Patriots with their standout slot cornerback eligible to play.
