Up until now, Demaryius Thomas had spent his NFL career as a pretty big rival of the New England Patriots, as he played the first eight-and-a-half years of his tenure with the Denver Broncos before being dealt to the Houston Texans midway through this past season.

However, Thomas is now a member of the Patriots after signing a one-year deal with the club, and he has already taken to Instagram to post a picture of himself in Patriots attire while deleting any photos of himself in Broncos gear.

Of course, how effective Thomas will be in 2019 remains to be seen.

The 31-year-old is coming off of a relatively lackluster 2018 campaign in which he hauled in 59 receptions for 677 yards and five touchdowns in 15 games between Denver and Houston and saw his season come to an end in Week 16 when he tore his Achilles.

When he was in his prime, however, Thomas was one of the most lethal wideouts in the NFL.

From 2012 through 2016, the Georgia native made four Pro Bowl appearances, including the 2014 campaign in which he caught 111 passes for 1,619 yards and 11 scores, the best season of his career.

Thomas posted five straight 1,000-yard campaigns during that span, but he has been in decline since 2017, as he finished with 949 yards that season before recording his lowest total since his second year in the league this past season.

Still, with the Patriots in desperate need of receiving help after the retirement of Rob Gronkowski, the free-agent departure of Cordarrelle Patterson and the indefinite suspension of Josh Gordon, Thomas represents a potential low-risk, high-reward pickup for the defending champs.
