The New England Patriots are entering a world of the unknown with Tom Brady signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in free agency. But there might be a light at the end of the tunnel. After losing Brady, Deshaun Watson is the betting favorite to start for the Patriots in 2021.

With Brady no longer in Foxborough, it is unclear on who the Patriots will choose to start at quarterback in 2020. The only quarterbacks remaining on the roster are Jarrett Stidham and Cody Kessler. Ahead of the 2020 season, the betting favorite to start in Week 1 is Stidham.

However, if Stidham doesn't pan out, the Patriots will need a plan at the quarterback position. As crazy as it sounds, Watson could become a quarterback that could find himself playing for Bill Belichick.

Watson is entering the final year of his contract with the Texans unless the team chooses to exercise his fifth-year option in 2021. On the other hand, Watson could force his way out of Houston after the questionable moves that have been made by Bill O'Brien in the past couple of seasons.

Earlier this week, O'Brien manufactured a peculiar trade that sent DeAndre Hopkins to the Arizona Cardinals. While they received David Johnson as part of the trade, the Texans didn't get nearly the same in return for the All-Pro receiver.

With the current regime on the hot seat in Houston, Watson could be looking to join a new team in the near future. Despite Patriots fans being distraught with Brady's departure, they could find his eventual heir apparent in Watson.
