All of that speculation about Tom Brady potentially walking off into the sunset if he wins another Super Bowl this year was all for naught, as Brady said there is “zero” chance he retires after Sunday's game regardless of the outcome.

But what about New England Patriots safety Devin McCourty?

McCourty, who has been playing alongside of his twin brother, Jason, this season, says that winning the Super Bowl with his sibling would be something that he could not possibly top, meaning he could retire after doing so:

“I don’t know for sure,” McCourty said, according to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk. “I do look at it if we can win this game, win it with my brother, I don’t know what else I could do that would top that. I’m just trying to make sure I enjoy this season and enjoy these last couple of days with these guys.”

McCourty is just 31 years old and surely has a lot of football left in him, as evidenced by the fact that he registered 82 tackles, an interception, a forced fumble, a pair of fumble recoveries and a defensive touchdown this season. That being said, if he does win the title along with his brother, that would a great way to go out.

The Nyack, N.Y. native was originally selected by the Patriots in the first round (27th pick overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft and began his career as a cornerback, making the Pro Bowl in his first season. However, three years into his career, McCourty began to transition to safety, where he began playing full time in 2013.

McCourty also made the Pro Bowl in 2016.
