New England Patriots wide receiver Dontrelle Inman is arriving late to training camp due to personal reasons, according to Field Yates of ESPN.

The Patriots signed Inman earlier this offseason to try and combat the exodus their receiving corps faced this past year, as tight end Rob Gronkowski retired, Chris Hogan and Cordarrelle Patterson departed via free agency and Josh Gordon is serving an indefinite suspension.

Inman spent the 2018 campaign with the Indianapolis Colts, playing in nine games and catching 28 passes for 304 yards and three touchdowns.

The 30-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Virginia, went undrafted but eventually landed with the San Diego Chargers in 2014.

He went on to appear in just seven contests during his rookie year, logging 12 catches for 158 yards. Then, the following season, Inman's role grew, as he participated in 14 games and snared 35 balls for 486 yards and three scores.

The Batesburg, S.C. native then had a breakout year of sorts in 2016, hauling in 58 receptions for 810 yards while reaching the end zone four times.

However, that was not enough to earn Inman a permanent role within the Chargers' offense, as the Bolts proceeded to trade him to the Chicago Bears in October of 2017. In 12 games between the Chargers and the Bears that season, he totaled 25 catches for 343 yards and a touchdown.

The Patriots won 11 games this past season, capturing their 10th straight AFC East division title and 15th in the last 16 years. They then went on to defeat the Los Angeles Rams for their sixth Super Bowl title.
