Veteran wide receiver Eric Decker remains a free agent with training camp just over a month away. He’s garnered the interest of some teams this offseason-he had visits to the Raiders and Ravens- but still hasn’t caught on.

But in a recent appearance on SiriusXM NFL Radio, Decker sounded out a potential landing spot that he’d definitely entertain: the New England Patriots.

Decker believes he’d be a good fit in the system of Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, who was the Broncos head coach when Decker was drafted there back in 2010. He also revealed that he held talks with the Patriots in free agency last offseason and would be interested if they came calling again.

The Patriots do have some decent depth at the wide receiver position. Despite losing Brandin Cooks and Danny Amendola, they still have Julian Edelman and Chris Hogan, and also added the likes of Jordan Matthews, Cordarrelle Patterson, and rookie Braxton Berrios this offseason.

But with top wideout Edelman out for the first four games of the season due to suspension, they may look to add an additional veteran option just in case.

However, it remains to be seen if the Patriots would actually consider Decker a worthwhile option. The 31-year-old, who played just three games in 2016 due to a shoulder injury, spent last season with the Tennessee Titans. He played all 16 games, and had 54 catches for 563 yards and a touchdown.

If the Patriots aren't interested, then Decker will just have to continue waiting for a team that still thinks he can contribute for them this season.
