New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has continued to prove to be an ageless wonder in his 18th season heading to his eighth Super Bowl appearance.

Although may other players would be at the tail end of their careers, Brady doesn't appear to be near his at anytime soon. However, his wife, Gisele Bundchen, had recently attempted to convince him to retire by using his close friend and former NFL kicker Jay Feely to do. This didn't exactly go as planned as the 40-year-old made it his intentions regarding his career quite clear, according to Sports Illustrated's Greg Bishop.

Last spring Brady and his family vacationed with retired kicker Jay Feely, a close friend from their college days at Michigan. This being Brady, Feely prefers not to disclose the locale, but he does share that Brady's wife, the supermodel Gisele Bundchen, spent time on that trip “trying to get me to convince (Tom) to stop playing.” And, Feely adds, “she was dead serious.”

Feely says he looked at his friend and told him, “Play as long as you can.” Brady smiled back and winked.

Brady is certainly a differently wired athlete that has a firm belief and passion for the game that not even his family can lean toward retirement. At this point, there is no legitimate reason in his mind to do so given that he is still playing at an elite level coming off yet another MVP caliber season while leading his team to a third Super Bowl appearance in four years.

His personal drive hasn't wavered in any manner, and it appears to have taken it up to another notch as he enters his 40s to prove Father Time wrong. Brady has already cemented himself as one of the greatest players to play the game, and he has a strong desire to add much more to that.

There will come a time where he will finally step away from the game, but that doesn't look to be in the plans at this point.
