New England Patriots tight end Hunter Henry made an honest admission about rookie teammate Mac Jones following their defeat to the Indianapolis Colts. The Patriots lost the game 27-17, and Jones will take plenty of lessons from the match.

The rookie had a forgettable game to say the least. Despite entering the match on a seven-game win streak, Jones was unable to put in a match-winning performance for his team.

The 23-year-old quarterback threw his first red zone interception of the season late in the second quarter. Jones also made another mistake when he threw another pick on the first drive of the third quarter. The slip-ups were surprising and out of character for the rookie. However, inconsistencies are a part of the game, more so for rookies adjusting to the league.

Patriots teammate Hunter Henry certainly recognized this, and he was quick to remind everyone that Jones is still a rookie. After the game, Henry said his young teammate could learn from Colt linebacker Darius Leonard's pick (via NBC Sports):

“He's a very elite player. He made a really, really good play,” Henry said of Leonard, adding, “Mac will see it and learn from it. He's still young. I think people forget, he's still a rookie. He's still gotta learn all these things.”

Despite his flawed performance, Jones still managed to become the first rookie in Patriots franchise history to surpass 3,000 yards through the air for the season. He also threw two touchdown passes to take his total to 18 for the season, only 3 behind the rookie franchise record of 21. These are promising signs for Mac Jones who will continue to improve and learn from games like that against the Colts.
