The New England Patriots lost to the Buffalo Bills in the opening round of the 2022 NFL playoffs. It was an ugly performance, but now the franchise will focus on the offseason. Wide receiver Jakobi Meyers opened up about his future with the organization and Mac Jones.

Meyers is set to be a restricted free agent in the offseason. According to Mark Daniels, Jakobi Meyers is interested in returning to the Patriots next year. Considering he and Mac Jones connected often (although, not for touchdowns) the future is bright in New England.

Furthermore, it seems Meyers has an interest in remaining in New England for the long haul. After being asked about Mac Jones and the future of the franchise, the Patriots receiver answered with a quick two-word reply, per Mark Daniels.

Although he only recorded two touchdowns on the year, Jakobi Meyers' career outlook is as bright as any. He's been one of the more consistent pass options in New England the last two years and his role continues to expand. Bill Belichick even compared him to former Patriots great Julian Edelman.

If Meyers can provide that type of production, the Patriots will officially return to the top of the league. This offseason is incredibly important for New England, as Mac Jones will have an opportunity to develop his game and improve. If that happens, Jakobi Meyers is bound to become an elite pass option next year.

We'll see how it all plays out, as the Patriots have a decent roster. Bill Belichick is bound to create a plan to develop his young players accordingly while adding upgrades to the team. This should be a crazy offseason, but New England is likely to get the job done, as usual.
