New England Patriots running back James White is ready to take on more of a leadership role with the team with Tom Brady no longer around. White made an appearance on the McCourty brothers' podcast and talked about all things football.

White admitted that he is a pretty quiet guy overall, but he is trying to continue to grow in that aspect. White said at times he still has problems putting his words together, but he is working on doing a better job with that with the Patriots:

“I’m a pretty quiet guy,” White said on the McCourty brothers’ podcast, via MassLive.com. “I don’t talk too much. I don’t say things unless they need to be said. So I’m constantly learning to speak my mind sometimes. Because that’s the part where I’m still continuing to try to grow. I feel like I have good things to say. Sometimes I just can’t put the words together. So I’m still trying to work on that.”

White knows with a lot of new pieces coming in, and the Patriots' offense changing, it's going to be mean other players are going to have to step up:

“Usually I don’t say anything, and now I am one of those guys on offense. I am going to have to say something,” White said on the podcast. “We don’t have that many guys who have played in our offense besides me, Julian (Edelman), Brandon Bolden, David Andrews, Marcus Cannon. Guys like that. And some of them, they don’t talk that much as well.

It's going to be a team effort to have some of those older guys like White and Edelman to be more vocal with other Patriots' players. There is going to be a big learning curve without Brady.

Even without Brady, there are still a lot of expectations for team, and to live up to it, everyone needs to step up.
