The New England Patriots appear shorthanded for Monday's game against the New York Jets. According to Mike Reiss of ESPN, wide receiver Josh Gordon (knee/ankle), tight end Matt LaCosse (knee) and tight end Ryan Izzo (concussion) were not present at Saturday's practice. They are unlikely to play on Monday.

Gordon suffered a knee injury in Week 6's win over the New York Giants. The wide receiver was attempting to tackle Giants pass-rusher Markus Golden on a scoop-and-score touchdown play before his left leg awkwardly buckled underneath him. He gingerly walked off the field and did not return for the game.

For the season, Gordon has 20 receptions for 287 yards and a touchdown.

LaCosse is dealing with a sprained MCL and is expected to miss a few weeks. The former Denver Bronco is the Patriots' starting tight end, reeling in three receptions for 55 yards on the year. He previously missed time with an ankle injury.

Izzo sustained a concussion during Thursday's practice. He will miss the first game of his 2019 campaign. For the season, he has six receptions for 114 yards and a touchdown.

With LaCosse and Izzo out, the Patriots resigned veteran Benjamin Watson and signed former Jet Eric Tomlinson from the free agency market. Neither has played with the Patriots in 2019.

In addition to Gordon’s and the tight ends’ injuries, running back Rex Burkhead (foot), safety Patrick Chung (heel/chest), wide receiver Phillip Dorsett (hamstring) and wide receiver Julian Edelman (chest) were all limited on Friday.

Monday's game will show a depleted Patriots offense.
