The New England Patriots will be without two of their top receivers against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. Both Julian Edelman and N'Keal Harry have been listed as out ahead of the Week 8 matchup (via ESPN's Adam Schefter).

The Patriots were already expected to be without Edelman as it was reported that the Kent State product would be sidelined due to a knee injury that required surgery, which will keep him out for an extended period of time.

Edelman had been one of the few spotlights on the Patriots dooming season. He leads the team in receiving yards at 315 and has completed 53.8 percent of his passes through Week 7. While his numbers are a considerable step down from last year, it could be due to the change of personnel at the field general slot. He's on par to receive a significantly lesser amount of targets this season at 104, per ESPN. He finished the 2019-20 season with 153 targets.

Harry is still dealing with some lingering effects from a concussion he suffered during a 33-6 blowout loss to the San Francisco 49ers last Sunday. While his injury doesn't appear to be one that'll keep him sidelined very long, his absence against the Bills surely will be felt. He's completed 19 of his 32 targets this season for 172 yards and one touchdown.

The Patriots will look to give some of their additional options some heavier snaps on Sunday. Damiere Byrd is a likely option in the absence of Edelman and Harry. The 27-year old wideout has completed 64.3 percent of his targets this season for 233 yards. Expect halfback Damien Harris to also see some targets from the backfield.
