Host of Fox Sports' First Thing's First Nick Wright had a trade idea. According to Rob Bradford of WEEI Radio, Wright thought the Detroit Lions and New England Patriots might want to work out a deal. And star wide receiver Julian Edelman wasn't a fan.

In that deal, Wright thought the Lions might be willing to give away the third overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, a pick that could be used to get quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. As a “throwaway” part of the deal, the Lions would get Edelman from the Patriots.

Edelman took to Twitter to offer his rebuttal to Wright, and it was pretty straight forward.

In a fortunate screengrab by Bradford, Edelman tweeted, “Nice hairline bro.” However, that tweet has since been deleted.

Edelman has been one of the best and most consistent wide receivers in the NFL for quite some time now.

Despite many believing that he is aging, and that Brady was declining and that the New England offense wasn't very good last season, Edelman thrived in 2019.

The receiver had 100 receptions for 1,117 yards (a new career-high) and six touchdowns. That's easily one of his best seasons ever.

Due to that, it's hard to see the Patriots wanting to part ways with the star. He's a consistent and reliable target and will be perfect for the young quarterback that they end up replacing Brady with (which could be Jarrett Stidham who is already on the roster).

Edelman was likely just having fun with Wright. There might have been some malice behind the words, but in the end it was more of a joke than anything. That's likely why he deleted the tweet. There was no reason to have the situation escalate to anything more than it was.

In the end, it was just an out-there trade idea from a TV show host. And Edelman decided it wasn't worth the hair-joke.
