The New England Patriots are clicking on all cylinders against the New York Jets in Week 3. Unfortunately, it appears there is now some cause for concern regarding wide receiver Julian Edelman.

According to ESPN's Mike Reiss, Edelman is questionable to return after suffering a chest injury:

Injury update: Julian Edelman, chest, questionable to return.

The injury appears to have occurred after hauling in a three-yard reception during the Patriots' final drive of the first half. Edelman came up grimacing and was seemingly holding his ribs as he walked away, via NFL Network's Michael Giardi.

The timing of Edelman's injury is hardly ideal. He had been in the midst of a solid outing as quarterback Ton Brady's favorite target in the passing game after hauling in seven receptions for 62 yards and a touchdown prior to his exit.

The prospect of Edelman not being able to return is hardly damaging to their chances of winning against the Jets. as a result, they may very well look to take a cautious approach given the veteran's track record with injuries.

Although losing Edelman for the rest of this game is not much of a concern, it very well could be if the injury proves to be severe. The Patriots' receiving corps has already undergone its fair share of changes as of late. Having's Brady's safety net sit out for an extended period of time would certainly be a cause for concern.

It will be interesting to see if Edelman is able to make his return in New York or in the near future.
